I’ve never faced a firing squad. But I rather felt I had some idea of the trepidation the condemned man might feel as I walked solemnly to the exam hall.
I was rather superstitious about sitting exams: I wore the same trousers and shirt for each exam for luck. I also did deals with God.

- organise your time
- organise your work space – let it be clutter free and calming
- take regular breaks
- eat well
- keep hydrated – water not caffeine
- use mind-maps, charts and diagrams
- go through old exam papers
- maybe don’t leave it to last – find a hypnotherapist.
Studying with others is a great way to keep boredom and loneliness at bay. Also if you can explain your ideas and answers to a friend you are consolidating your learning.
